7 best coworking spaces in Thailand’s top cities for digital nomads!

Thailand is an all-time favorite for travelers and remote workers. It abounds with coworking and coliving spaces as well. Here we singled out some that we found appealing in different cities across the country:

  1. WOLF Co-Working Space, Bangkok
  2. The Hive, Prakanong, Bangkok
  3. Muchroom Coworking Space, Bangkok
  4. HUBBA, Ekkamai, Bangkok
  5. The Brick Space, Chiang Mai
  6. Hub53 Coworking and Coliving Space, Chiang Mai
  7. Garage Society, Patong Beach, Phuket

Let’s start with the bustling capital of Thailand — Bangkok!

Bangkok is the capital city of Thailand and its leading business center. Its towering skyscrapers and overall concrete jungle feeling are exceptional business driving forces. Remote workers and digital nomads always make sure to visit this one-of-a-kind place and get a taste of its unique energy. It comes as no surprise that the city is bursting with coworking spaces for the locals and foreigners alike, but it is impossible to test them all out. We found several that caught our eye, and here’s what we thought about them!

WOLF Co-Working Space

Source: WOLF Co-Working Space

WOLF Co-Working Space is a modern, bright, and exceptionally designed coworking space located in the Soi Surasak Road in Bangkok. It is located on five floors of a towering downtown building, overlooking the city through its many glass walls. What we liked about it was its contemporary design and the way each floor was envisioned.

The first floor is a relaxation station offering a pantry filled with numerous delicious snacks and tasty coffee, a shower room for when you need to freshen up, and an open deck for taking in some fresh air. There is also a three-person private office at this level.

The second floor has a comfy, spacious long-table working space that allows you to connect and exchange ideas and inspiration with other coworkers. There is also a 75 sqm event room, called the Life Space, that can host 20–50 people, and a Cave Room with a flat-screen TV and three-meter wallboard that is perfect for meetings of up to 10 persons. In case you need a break, there is a reading space with a library, beanbags, and lots of room for hanging out.

The third floor showcases another long table overlooking the pool, another Life Space for 15–20 people, and a Camp Room for up to six coworkers, with internet TV and three-meter longboard ideal for brainstorming.

The fourth floor features a coworking workstation with ergonomic chairs and Y-shaped tables with detachable partitions. The fifth floor encompasses a loft coworking space and a four-person private office.

This coworking space has something to offer for everyone, regardless of whether you are a foreigner or a local, solo or a team player.

The Hive, Prakanong

Source: The Hive Prakanong

The Hive that we loved is located in the Prakanong district in Bangkok, which is famous for its charming vibe. It has numerous restaurants and fast food options, as well as plenty of bars ideal for after-work cocktails. What better place is there for a coworking space?

The Hive is a world-renowned coworking space giant with offices all across Asia. It is undoubtedly one of the first places a digital nomad would look for when visiting a new city, and for a good reason. All of its locations are aesthetically beautiful and showered in lots of natural light, perfect for promoting creativity. Another bonus is that once you join as a member, you are welcome to pop in any The Hive space in any country you find yourself!

The Hive is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, stable Wi-Fi, and a variety of meeting rooms that can fit anywhere from five to 50 people. It is also famous for hosting regular events for promoting network-building among its members. Some of the most frequented ones are Happy Hour, Member’s Lunch, and in particular, Try Out Mondays when you can visit the place and enjoy free coffee and tea, internet, and hot desk, no strings attached!

Muchroom Coworking Space

Source: Muchroom

Muchroom coworking space is one of the most rudimentary choices on our list. It currently offers neither the dedicated desk nor private offices or conference rooms. What garnered our attention is rather the quality of facilities it does provide.

Located in the affluent yet peaceful Phaya Thai district in central Bangkok, this coworking space was set up in an old but fully refurbished townhouse surrounded by lush greenery. The setting could not be more fitting for focused, productive work. It is the gathering place of local freelancers, entrepreneurs, and investors alike, but it is getting more visits from foreigners, too.

Apart from hotdesks and meeting rooms, Muchroom has an amazing garden lounge-area you can also work from. In line with its proximity to Wat Phai Tan, the revered local Buddhist temple, Muchroom hosts Wednesday Yoga classes for its members in its beautiful outdoor garden.

Although it may be somewhat underdeveloped for some, we’re sure Muchroom will prove perfect for those of you looking for a secluded, tranquil coworking space that is also conveniently within reach.

HUBBA, Ekkamai

Source: HUBBA Thailand

HUBBA, Ekkamai is situated in the downtown Bangkok area, in the vicinity of BTS (the Skytrain). Its accessibility is what draws many visitors to this coworking spot. It is also what makes it incredibly packed at times, which is what many online reviewers found as an unforgivable downside.

As a coworking space, HUBBA focuses on building a community of its members. It organizes regular meet-ups and also Power Lunch events once a month, during which members can socialize and try out new foods together. There are a vast outdoor terrace and chill-out area too, ideal for taking a break from work and chatting with somebody.

HUBBA is definitely not all work and no play — apart from free coffee, you can enjoy free beer and a hop or two on the trampoline!

Since its establishment in 2012, HUBBA has opened four more locations in Bangkok, Thailand. Given the fact that it doesn’t offer dedicated desks, it still gets overcrowded at times, in spite of having five locales in total. That is certainly a point to mull over before deciding to come here, as you may not find a free chair at the hot desk.

There are even more awesome coworking spaces in Thailand! Chiang Mai has lots to offer!

Another city worth visiting on your way through Thailand is Chiang Mai. We found two places to accommodate different needs, so make sure to check them out.

The Brick Space

Source: The Brick Space

The Brick Space is located in the Mueang Chiang Mai District. It is within walking distance of downtown cafes, pubs, popular food carts, and restaurants.

What is unusual about it is that it is not your standard coworking spot. This one is run by the Technology Business Incubation Department of the Science and Technology Park, Chiang Mai University, and aided by the Thai Ministry of Science and Technology. It offers the Pre-Incubation Program designed to help young startups to learn and exchange ideas with established leaders in a given industry who can provide advice and support through workshops and lectures.

The downside of this coworking space is that it is generally oriented towards the local population. If you are looking to network with the locals, do give it a go, but keep in mind that a language barrier problem might appear.

Hub53 Coworking and Coliving Space

Hub53 Coworking and Coliving Space is also located in the popular Mueang Chiang Mai District. It is within walking distance from the Nimman Road and easy to get to even for first-time visitors to Chiang Mai.

Unlike our previous choice, this one is the perfect digital nomad hub. It offers coworking spaces, coliving options, a kitchen, and numerous community-building events for its members. You can choose from a variety of hot desks and private offices, and you can also take a breather at the chill-out lounge or the outdoor terrace.

For those not wanting to stick around all day and are constantly on the go, there is an hourly entrance fee, which is a rarity among coworking spaces. If you do decide to make Chiang Mai your residence for the time being, you can use Hub53 coliving options. Don’t forget to set up your travel stand desk here, and your digital nomad experience will be complete!

Let’s take a look at Phuket

Phuket is a genuine tropical island with a perfect climate and long stretches of beach filled with coast-side bars and pubs. The place is not among the most luxurious or picturesque ones in the world but is still a frequent stop on many digital nomads’ routes. That is why it surely deserves mention on our list. Here’s what we liked in Phuket.

Garage Society, Patong Beach

Source: Garage Society

Garage Society in the Patong area is located in a well-known hostel, Lub d, roughly 100 meters from the beach. There are also other hotels, hostels, bars, and restaurants nearby, as this is the central tourist location in Phuket. Garage society coworking space is nevertheless secluded from the hustle and bustle even at peak tourist seasons, as the street where Lub d is situated in is a tranquil one. That combination is great for travelers who are looking for a spot to join work and pleasure.

The coworking space itself has a modern design and is set up with fast internet and equipment, such as a printer, scanner, and copier. Since it is inside a hostel, you can pull double duty and explore what it has to offer, too. We recommend taking up some professional Muay Thai lessons. No better way to get blood to your brain to boost creativity than by working out a sweat in a Thai boxing ring!

If you will also be coliving here, make sure you bring a travel stand desk with you to make your room a secondary working space. The prices at Garage Society are rather high, and if you want to save up a bit, you will need an alternative working spot. What better way than your very own carry-on desk!

Phuket is a rather transient place, and its coworking spaces cater mostly to tourists and people on the go, like digital nomads. It is unlikely that you will find regular members or a super crowded coworking space here. Garage Society also has coworking spaces in Makati, Siem Reap, and Hong Kong, so if you do become a member, you will be able to access those offices as well.

HATCH Coworking Space, Phuket Town is the least impressive coworking space we tried in Thailand

Source: Trip Advisor

HATCH Coworking Space is part cafe, part coworking space. If you don’t intend to stick around long, you can sit in the front section, near the window screen, use the Wi-Fi to send a couple of emails, and move on. If you want to stay a while longer, head to the back and take up a desk with a comfy chair to work from.

There is a shopping mall right across the street, so you can clear your mind from work from time to time there. You can also grab a bite, as HATCH doesn’t offer free snacks.

HATCH is a favorite spot, judging by online reviews. Still, if you are searching for conference rooms and dedicated desks, we suggest you keep looking.

Some are more oriented for locals, while others are perfect for globetrotters. All in all, we’re sure you’ll find something to your liking in Thailand!
